Robert Richard Smith Gallery Logo

The Robert Richard Smith Gallery is located at CCAC's Allegheny Campus in West Hall. A new identity was created to help define the gallery itself, but also to show the legacy it uphoolds. When first learning about the history of Robert Richard Smith, the most prominent moment that stood out was that he had no family. The idea of picture frames came to mind helping to lead into the creation of the logo. Not only are picture frames used to showcase artwork, but they can also be used for pictures of family, people, and life. The frame surrounds the name of the gallery helping to push this meaning further and to showcase the name. Mixing the different types between thick and thing, using Sans and San-Serif fonts helps to create a more interesting look to the logo. Art brings people together, and the gallery that is filled with art work helps to create the chosen family that Robert Richard Smith never had.
